This was my first real time in Berlin and Charles Normal back home suggested I see the Berlin wall, and the Kruezberg part of town. I was please to find out that the last significant piece of the wall was only 100 yards away from the venue, as was a McDonalds which fixed my craving for some french fries.
After experiencing the wall, I met up with Dan and his friend Alastair, who he knew from Eugene, Oregon, and we set off on foot to see the bohemish part of Berlin known as Kruezberg. I found a barber and thought it might be time for a haircut. There was a bit of a language barrier so I used the universal symbol for haircut by making scissors with my fingers. Berlin is fascinating and I’d love to go back in the future. I have to say that our show was pretty amazing....it felt real good and the crowd was energetic and having a lot of fun. Afterward I met so many fans that drove for miles to see the show, and a few that flew in from other countries. Funny as it is, I don’t remember meeting anyone from Berlin.
Day 15 - Berlin, Germany
2/18/08
Berlin, Germany - I’m standing in front of the last remaining large piece of the East/West Berlin Wall. This portion of the wall is approximately one kilometer long and will be preserved for historical sake as well as tourist photo opportunities. I tried to find some spray paint for my own contribution, but I had no success.
